EPISODE 11 - One For The X-Files
Setting: Alien Worlds

Sarah came awake as the long needle approached her. She must have fainted. How could she travel through time so fast--as if she'd only been gone a few seconds? The needle came precariously close to her nose. "No, please!" she screamed, her voice echoing inside the stark room. She tried to move off the table, but two grays held her down.

The door whooshed open, and someone rushed in. She couldn't see who from her position on the table, but she pleaded with the stranger anyway. "Help me!"

The grays released her and turned around. They scurried to the other side of the room, as if surprised by the intrusion.

      "Sarah, get off the table!"

It was D.K.! Thank goodness. Sarah rolled off the table. She staggered slightly, still shaken from the idea of what they may have been about to do to her, but she kept her footing. "How'd you get out of the cell?"

D.K. stood between her and the grays. "I jumped the guard when he brought my food. Guess he wasn't expecting it. It was easy." His brow furrowed. "Almost too easy."

"I'm glad you're here." Sarah warily watched the grays, who now moved slowly toward them. "Be careful. They might paralyze you again."

He grabbed her hand. "No, they won't. We're getting out of here." He pulled her across the room. The door whooshed open, and they ran into the corridor. "This way!" D.K. led her around the corner, toward another door at the far end.

"Do you know where you're going?"

"Not really. But anyplace has to be better than here. There's got to be a way out ... somewhere." He skidded to a halt when the door before them didn't slide open. "It's locked." He smashed his fist against it.

"I don't think that will help. Let's go back."

When they turned, they saw two tall, silvery creatures coming toward them. Sarah gripped D.K.'s hand. "Who are they?"

D.K. shook his head. "I don't know. And I'm not much in the mood for introductions. They don't look none too friendly anyway. Come on!"

"Where?" Sarah glanced around them. There didn't seem to be anywhere to go. She couldn't face being taken back to that table again. No telling what they would do to her. "Make a decision, D.K.. Hurry!"

He pulled her down a side corridor that looked to be a dead end.

"D.K., this doesn't lead anywhere." She glanced over her shoulder, expecting the creatures to be at their heels. She didn't see them, but knew they couldn't be far behind. A strange vision of the old black and white "Mummy" movies came into her mind, and how the mummy always moved so slowly, but somehow always managed to catch up with its victims.

They reached the end of the corridor. A large portal revealed the outside world. Sarah gasped. "We're in space!"

"Where did you think we were?"

"I--I don't know. What do we do?"

"There must be a shuttle on board somewhere ... if only we could get to it. I could fly us out of here. I don't think they'd shoot us down. We're not that valuable."

"You can pilot a shuttle?" she asked in astonishment. A sound drew her attention to the other end of the corridor. The silvery creatures rounded the corner. "They're coming!"

D.K. pushed Sarah behind him. "Stay back."

The creatures moved slowly forward. One of them glided--almost as if floating on a cushion of air--over to the side of the corridor. Sarah watched as it reached out and touched something against the wall. A button?

The floor opened up. She and D.K. plummeted downward. Her scream rent the air, then faded into oblivion.
